Meditation Basics: Counting breaths is not like counting sheep.

“Just close your eyes and count your breaths,” they say. How simple can it be? “Don’t think about anything else though. Just concentrate on your breathing.” Well, anyone who has tried this “simple” meditation knows that it just isn’t that easy.

There are many obstacles to this seemingly effortless task. Our minds tend to wander naturally. If we try to completely focus on anything for more than a few seconds, random thoughts take over. And breathing is boring; let’s face it. How can you concentrate on something so mundane when there are much more interesting things racing around in your head?

A typical session might go like this: I close my eyes, sit comfortably, and begin counting. Inhale one, inhale two, inhale… “Am I doing this right? I guess so, I’m already on… oh three.” Inhale four… “Now, am I supposed to start over at one or just keep going?” Inhale one, inhale two, inhale three, inhale four. “Wow, I’m really getting the hang of this. Oops.” Inhale one, inhale two… “Did I remember to pay the phone bill? I’m sure I did. I’m really good at staying on top of my bills. Not like Susan, she’s always… Darn, I did it again.” Inhale one, inhale two…

The good news is it does get better with practice. The bad news is it can still be a struggle for experienced meditators, especially during busy or turbulent periods in one’s life. Luckily, there is more good news. There are some specific things you can do to help you focus and reduce the frustration in your meditation practice. In this article, I would like to offer three tips to help you with your practice. They are: Observe don’t control, be compassionate, and enjoy yourself.

First, don’t force or try to control your breathing. This is a mistake that a lot of beginners make. Many inexperienced meditators consciously or unconsciously alter their breathing in an effort to focus on it. What results is an exaggerated and often irregular breathing pattern. This can actually inhibit your meditation rather than help it.

What you want to do is just “watch” your breathing. You don’t have to exert any additional effort at all. If you just wait and observe, you will breathe. Then, you can count. Of course, we all know this but many people still find themselves forcing it. If you catch yourself controlling your breaths, just gently remind yourself that it’s not necessary and then wait for the next breath to come naturally.

This brings me to the next tip, compassion. In this case I mean for yourself in your meditation practice. As we’ve been discussing, it’s not an easy thing to do to concentrate on one’s breath. It’s very important not to scold yourself when your mind wanders or you catch yourself controlling your breathing. If you think about it, the time you would spend reprimanding yourself for breaking your focus is just more time away from your meditation. It is best to softly bring yourself back to your practice as soon as you notice you’re wavering. Don’t get down on yourself and start thinking, “I can’t do this. This is never going to work for me.” These negative thoughts do nothing to help your practice and waste valuable time. Be compassionate. Just brush it off and return to your meditation.

Another way to look at these wanderings is to realize that they are an important part of your progression. Meditation is a skill. And like most skills, it requires practice. A baseball player doesn’t step into the batter’s box for the first time and start hitting home runs. He makes mistakes and corrections, and improves over time. He can then gauge his progress by the reduction of errors. Even after he is an experienced batsman, he will still strike out more often than he would like. But his hits should increase as well.

In your meditation practice, your mind will likely wander more in the beginning. But don’t give up. It will get better. Just like the baseball player, you will realize fewer mistakes over time and you will learn to recover from them more quickly. Sure, you will still have challenges and even slumps from time to time but you will also have more successes.

The final tip I would like to offer is to find enjoyment in your practice. Even though it may be tough at times, daily meditation can greatly enhance your life. Don’t rate yourself and expect to progress or improve to a particular degree or within a particular time-frame. Unlike baseball, mediation is a life-long experience. Remember, this is your time. Let it be your oasis not a chore. No matter what else is going on in your life, your meditation time can be your escape. As a Zen master once said, “It’s just you and your breath and then it’s just your breath.” Breathe in, breathe out, and forget about the world around you. Even when you’re busy or preoccupied with some problem, even if you can only find ten or fifteen minutes to be alone with your breath, enjoy it.

I hope these tips will help you to enhance your meditation experience. They have certainly proved to be invaluable in my own practice over the years. Of course I still struggle from time to time with the very same issues we’ve discussed here. But through observing rather than controlling, being compassionate to myself when I falter, and enjoying my special time alone; I have made my life fuller and happier.

MEDITATION (I): THEORY

ALCHEMIC TRANSFORMATION IN MEDITATION

(Foreword: This is meant to be a practical hand book to meditation which explains some basic ideas and detailed instruction of meditation. The first part offers a general introduction to meditation through the comparison between chakra meditation in the Hinduism tradition and the internal breathing meditation in the ancient Chinese Taoist tradition. The second part focuses on the detailed steps of meditation. The forthcoming third part will extend the focus of discussion to the third eye and the spirituality. Thank you for your reading. —— September 2018 updated)

ALCHEMY IN DISGUISE

Although alchemy has long been heralded as the prototype of modern chemistry, its science-proved errors have never been able to dismantle its mystic shroud. However, the oriental tradition of spirituality still retain evidences that this encrypted esotericism is closely related to the practice of meditation. In addition to that, the parallelism between alchemy and meditation may even imply the fact that the latter anteceded the former. If we pursue this further, we may even conclude that that alchemy had long served as encrypted knowledge for meditation before it was taken away from the encrypted context with its misinterpretation being materialized in a pseudo science. Nevertheless, at a time when meditation is becoming more and more prevalent a practice in our highly industrialized world, it is inspiring that the decrypted context of alchemy may feed back to its original source and provide more in-depth insights to restore those still veiled elements of meditation.

DECRYPTED ALCHEMY AND MEDITATION

In terms of physics, alchemy is a process of transformation to convert gross heavy metals, such as lead, into higher noble metal like gold. In terms of spirituality, alchemy is the self-transformation in ascension to higher consciousness in the light of divinity. But how? Let’s bring it back to the context of meditation.

The encryption comes from a very familiar activity in the household—a very common event in every culture—cooking. Cooking by fire is the analogy that alchemy draws for its encryption. The base elements or food materials were put in a cauldron or any similar container to be cooked or heated and turned into something beneficial. There is also such a cauldron inside our body. It is in the lower abdomen called the “elixir field”—dan()-tian(). The stove that the alchemist uses is called the stove of “dan.” It is generally believed that its location is three-finger wide below and two-finger deep behind the belly button, approximately in the lower abdomen between the belly button and the kidneys. This is the base of alchemy and meditation (also aliased as “internal alchemy” in Taoist tradition). In either Indian or Chinese tradition, meditation is basically practiced in the sitting position with two legs crossed in imitation of wood piled under the stove/cauldron to stabilize it for heating. That’s why it is usually advised to sit 1.5 to 2 inches from the ground surface to ensure the “wood piles” are placed lower than the bottom of the stove/cauldron. Otherwise, the seed of (kundalini) flame would be buried under and muffled by the wood logs (legs). It is more than coincidental that both the chakra theory and the Taoist tradition associate this base area of root chakra/lower dan-tian with the color of red. The seven chakras start from the red chakra at the base with each of the higher chakras corresponding respectively to the other colors of the rainbow. In addition to its reference to the cinnabar ball of elixir, the denotation of dan in Chinese is also red color. It’s quite a natural phenomenon that fire is always assigned the color of redness. The other coincidence is that both traditions portray this base as four-partitioned—four petals in the case of chakra image and four squares in the hieroglyphic character of tian, (field). However, the differentiation between these two traditions spreads out also from here.

While in the Hinduist tradition, the seven chakras align along the central channel (sushumna), going up from the base chakra to the crown chakra approximately along the spine, the Chinese Taoist meditation practice envisions two channels forming a circle, the ren channel and the du channel, both of which are actually connected instead of two independent channels. The ren channel, or “following channel,” goes down from the nose along the chest and abdomen to the bottom. It pretty much follow the path of our deep breath. The du channel, or “governing channel,” starts from where the ren channel stops and goes up in our back along the spine to the top of our head, and then descends to the nose, where air enters our body, making a full cycle of the flow of qi or prana, the refined energy. Ostensibly, these two versions of the energy path have quite big differences, such as the one being a process of rising while the other of a circle. In actuality, they are just two templates for the one and the same human physical body. The ultimate function and goal of both are pretty much the same in the end—to cook the base elements inside our body and transform them into the highest form of energy for our existence.

CHAKRA TEMPLATE AND INTERNAL BREATHING TEMPLATE

Internal Breathing Meditation: It’s easy to map out the template by tracing the route of breathing because it is the most basic activity of life in everyone. The Chinese character of ren means “follow.” In the channel of ren, we just let it follow where the air, or qi, goes in breathing. When it goes down to the nadir and rises along the du channel, you start to govern it and guide it along the spine until it reach the zenith. The advantage of the Taoist internal breathing template goes further that once this so-called “micro-celestial cycle” is achieved, it can further connect to the 12 ordinary meridians, each of which spreads out along its own route to channel the energy to congruent organs and systems inside our body, with many portals (acu-points) along its route. These portals work like micro-chakras as a nexus subject to the energy from within and without the body. If they are blocked, the energy flow will be weakened or disrupted and the biological functions in correspond to the congruent organs or systems will be impaired. In addition to these 12 involuntary and physically-oriented circulation meridians, the Taoist template also envisages 8 extraordinary channels which are voluntary and controllable energy routes and are spiritually oriented. In addition to the ren channel and du channel, there is also the central channel, the 4 limb channels as well as the belt channel. The micro-celestial cycle can be extended to these six extraordinary channels and achieve some other auxiliary spiritual capabilities. For example, the right and left foot channels may activate the sole portals called “fountain gurgle acu-point,” which may pulsate when stepping on energy-charged spots, and connect them all the way to the crown portal allowing the energy to come through from the roof of the head and exit from the soles. The portal in the center of the palm, called “labor-chamber acu-point,” also does the same work as the foot sole portals. The palm center can also work like scanner to sense and evaluate energy fields. In addition to the palms, the ten finger tips, “ten outlet” acu-points, can also be used as energy transmitters. The energy beam thus transmitted can be as concentrated as laser beams and visible even to naked eyes. The mudra (hand gesture) actually provides a template for the energy field of the hand and fingers to perform a particular energy function. That’s why in standard meditation, either the chakra meditation or the Taoist internal breathing meditation, hands and fingers are joined and legs crossed so that the inner energy may flow in closed circulations within the body instead of leaking out from these hand and foot portals. The complete circulation throughout this framework which is mapped out by the channels and meridians is called the “macro-celestial cycle,” which is believed to culminate in immortality, i.e. the elixir (dan) for immortality.

Chakra Meditation: At first look, the internal breathing meditation is very quite different from chakra meditation, for the template of chakra meditation seems relatively simple and postulates seven energy centers or nexuses along the central channel, each of which corresponds not only to the biological functions of certain anatomical organs and endocrine systems in reciprocal area but also to the psychosomatic development in progressive phases. In general, the chakra meditation follows the alignment of the seven chakras along the central channel. Each of the seven chakras corresponds to a phase of psychological development and some physical functions. The first energy nexus is the root of existence. Its corresponding psychosomatic function is the survival and preservation of the existence itself. If the energy field in this chakra is weak or too strong, the person will show no will or unaggressive will to fight for the basic need of survival. The second chakra corresponds to a person’s growth of emotional self. After the safety of existence is secured, emotional desires flow out in positive or negative proportion to the relationship with the object of desires. Weak energy field in this chakra is manifested in dependency or inability to establish relationships, while overly strong energy field may lead to impulsiveness and ignorant passions regardless of the feeling of the other people involved. The energy field of solar plexus witnesses the rise of reason (the solar power of the sun) in the horizon of ocean of emotions. Weak energy in this chakra features low-confidence and indecision, while immoderate energy leads to control freaks and self-centered mentality. While the intellectual ego is fully developed in the solar chakra, both the existential ego in the root chakra and the emotional ego in the second chakra are suppressed below the horizon into the ocean of subconsciousness and unconsciousness. The heart chakra in the midway of the channel is the culmination of an mature ego not in terms of self-center fortification but in terms of transpersonal empathy. It is the crucial point between the lower three chakras and the upper three ones. The first three chakras are basically concerned with the introverted development within one’s own existence. They are autistic and featured by self-absorption, while the heart chakra is capable of expansion, opening up its energy field for unconditional communication and non-egocentric interaction with the world outside. The pivotal significance of this midway chakra lies in the fact that the more progressively expanded is its energy field, the more encompassing it is to fulfill the spirituality of the higher chakras. In other words, it is the foundation for the three higher chakras in the head. The underdevelopment of the heart chakra not only falls short of transpersonal empathy but also falls back to the lower chakras and forms fixations in the overactive functions of those three chakras. The worse scenario is the vacuum effect caused by the absence of the energy to be supplied from the solar chakra, which may turn one to absorb the heart energy from other people in contact. Such a person may passively receive other people’s energy from the heart chakra and feel other people’s emotions or feelings without resistance. In contrast, telepathy functions on the basis of expanded energy field of the heart, which works like the radar to imprint the condition of the other person’s heart energy. It is powered by the active energy already processed by the solar chakra so that the sense data such a mind picks up can be processed by a rational ego without being lost in the emotion passively received.

The upper three chakras are very closely related with each other. They are basically spiritually oriented. The throat chakra actually covers not only our vocal organs but also our audible organs. This bilateral function elevates the expansive nature of the heart chakra to a higher level of reciprocity in nature. We need a mirror in order to see ourselves, but we can talk and hear ourselves simultaneously because vocalization is the only function made by our organ that can be perceived by another organ of ours. This can happen not only in external environment but also inside of ourselves, which deepens the function of the heart chakra in an inner reciprocal mode of dialogue by internalizing the outside, and further expands the empathetic interpersonal dimension of the heart chakra in its inner arc. More than that, since the ear is located at the same level of the eye chakra, the vibrations that it receives will also be reflected in the energy field of the eye chakra. For example, we don’t always recognize an old friend by hearing his voice. We pretty much recognize him by the image that his voice strikes up in our mind. Due to the overlapped energy field, the spiritual sense of hearing always forecasts or accompanies the opening of the third eye. The eye chakra also carries this reciprocality further into the metaphysical level. While the reciprocity of the throat chakra is employed in the mental dimension where the inner dialogue is held between the subject of ourselves and the object that we internalize, the eye chakra serves to externalize the spirituality that is innate in our souls—the third eye vision. We will talk about this exclusively in Part III. In short, while the lower chakras work their respective functions in a linear process, the upper three chakras work as a clustered core on the shared energy field in the sphere of the head, where most of our sense organs are located. That’s why in darkness where our sight fails to work, we count more on our reaction to sound, we greet people by calling out their names immediately after we see them, and a shrew person will speedily and skillfully dodge a ball flying to his head through the instant reaction from his integrated senses in the head. These three upper chakras not only constitute our intelligence and command our physicality, but also incubate our spirituality, such as the third eye, spiritual hearing, the sixth sense and other ESPs as well as astra projection, and the like. The crown chakra is the portal where the soul enters and exits the human body. Once the subtle energy reaches the the crown chakra, the communication with alternative dimensions becomes possible. Basically, the crown portal is the spiritual mechanism related to the soul, astral body, and life and death.

Complementary Practice:The most general misconception about chakras is taking each chakras as an independent energy center and focusing on solving its blockage. As a matter of fact, no chakra is really blocked as long as a person is alive. Each chakra is an energy nexus which functions to process the energy in its corresponding psychosomatic domain. However, the dynamics of the seven chakras consists in the subtle energy flows among these chakras in the central channel. The chakras are not isolated from each other. Instead, they are interconnected by the central channel like seven different flowers on the same branch drawing the water they need through the same channel. The energy flow itself from the root to the top is the very basis for chakra functions. When the energy flows from one chakra to the next higher one, it doesn’t displace or hollow out the preceding chakra. Instead, the refined energy fulfills and stabilizes the preceding chakra’s physical and psychological functions while flowing in rise to the next higher chakra. If a chakra is overcharged with the energy, it will become overactive in its functioning in the corresponding psychosomatic field, with less refined energy available to flow further into the next chakra; on the other hand, if the chakra is undercharged, the energy will not only become too weak to fully activate the chakra spinning and carry out the psychosomatic balance of the chakra, but also bypass to the next higher chakra making it overactive. That’s why in many cases, the cause of the imbalance of a certain chakra might not be in itself but in the insufficient or overcharged energy in the preceding or following chakra or chakras. As a matter of fact, the seven chakras make up an ecosystem of subtle energy. Any issue of any chakra bear effects on the other chakras as well as the entire energy system. That’s why kundalini rise is so important and necessary in yogic meditation. Kundalini is usually depicted in a metaphor of serpent-like heat rising up from the root chakra rising awake from slumber. Again, it is encrypted in the metaphor of spiritual snake, but the concept of kundalini is somewhat shrouded with such mystified effects that more often than not it leads to confusion rather than clarification. To put it back to the deciphered context of alchemy, the base elements that our body has absorbed are processed in the cauldron of the lower abdomen where the energy is refined and transformed into refined energy and rise along the central channel. Since each person’s physical temperament is different, the experience of awakened kundalini also differs in accordance with the person’s general health condition. If a person’s congenital energy is flimsy and tenuous, the streaming of this awakened subtle energy may become a powerful and vibrant experience as it is passing through the channel and breaking through each under-developed chakra. Once it is broken through, the energy will fluently flow to each chakra to be further refined until it reaches the crown chakra. On the other hand, in the case of an athletic person whose physical vitality is already highly active in the central channel due to regular exercises and training, the kundalini experience may feel no more than a gush of heat rising from the root chakra. The correct and safe way to arouse kundalini is through the practice of meditation so that the refined energy can be sensed rising like an uncoiling snake winding up through the central channel to spin each watermill-like chakra while passing through and fulfill the corresponding physical and mental functions of each chakra until it has thus reached the crown and bring about the comprehensive spiritual transformation of the person. In Chinese internal breathing tradition, the process is analogized as water mill in reverse direction. The underlying theory behind this process of spiritual transformation is that each living being is the offspring from the origin of universal energy, Tao, Brahman, God, or the Supreme Being, whatever the honored name is used for naming, which descends from the ultimate transcendental realm of numinous world through a process of differentiation and materialization like the light going through a prism and breaking down into a spectrum of varied colors. In Taoist ideas, this transcendental spiritual light is materialized into three different levels or manifestations in the human existence: the spiritual level where the soul is manifested in shen (divinity or spirituality), the mental level where human mental and emotional fluctuations reside in the manifestation of qi (the primal energy), and the physical level where the human body works and functions in the element of jing (essence). The essential foundation of the Taoist meditation consists in this delicate reverse engineering “to refine the material essence into subtle energy and then convert the subtle energy back to the spirituality.” The converter of the material essence is located in the lower dantian (lower abdomen), the refiner of the subtle energy is in the middle dantian (the heart) and the transformer of the spirituality is located in the upper dantian (the third eye). In the final analysis, we can see that the Taoist energy transformation process is basically parallel to the kundalini transformation. Both the yogic tradition and the taoist school start from the seed of “fire” in the lower abdomen. While the flame is kindled, the base element in our body is cooked in the cauldron and converted into sublimation form of subtle energy, qi or prana. When this sublimated air or qi is condensed in the upper dantian, it is transformed into spiritual light in the third eye.

Tantric tradition of meditation generally follows the theory of chakras and channels and proposes three seed flames, called bindu (light spots), in the similar locations of the three dantian. In addition to that, it carries the alchemic analogy of cooking further to the point of comparing the crown (chakra) to the cover of the caldron, where the steam (transformed kundalini heat) from the cooking meets the cool air outside the cover and condenses into dew drops to shower on the heated body as a spiritual baptism. Although all of these three meditation practices preach pretty much the same spiritual transformation process inside our body, each has different descriptions about the transcendental experience beyond the crown (chakra) and tapers to their respective religious contexts in their historical development. However, it is Jesus Christ who most precisely and succinctly concluded this spiritual transformation when he referred to it as the “baptism with fire and Holy Spirit.”

spiral notebook on table with marker top on left and

Self Improvement has become mainstream. In the last few years, since I have been writing articles and submitting them to article sites, I’ve noticed that the category of “Self Improvement” has been showing up lately when it was never there before. To me, this is very good news.

But what does it really mean to “Self Improve?” What are we really improving when we self-improve? And what “self” are we improving?

We each have two “selves” – our wounded self and our core Self. Our core Self is our true self, our natural soul-self – our essence. Our core Self is our passion, our joy, our gifts and talents, our ability to love, our creativity. We come into this life as our core Self, and when this Self is loved and valued by our parents, we continue to naturally grow our God-given gifts and talents and manifest the fullness of our beings. This Self wants to improve by learning the skills necessary to fully express itself.

But when this Self is not seen and valued in the way we needed, we create an alternative self, a self we hope will have control over getting the love we need and avoiding the pain we can’t handle – a self to help us feel safe. This is our false self, our wounded self, our ego-self. This self is filled with the false beliefs that we absorbed as we were growing up – beliefs that end up limiting our true, core Self. This self does not needs improving – it needs healing.

The term “self-improvement” can sometimes be a bit misleading, because we do not want to improve our wounded self. We do not want to improve on the ways we lie, manipulate, and avoid in our attempts to have control over getting love and avoiding pain. We don’t want to improve on our many addictions to substances and processes. We don’t want to improve on our anger, our compliance, our withdrawal, and our resistance.

We want to heal it.

Healing and improving is not the same thing.

We can certainly self-improve when it comes to skills. We can improve in sports, art, music, writing, cooking. We can improve our health and wellbeing by improving our diet and exercise program. We can improve in the knowledge we need to be more successful regarding work and money. We might be able to improve our relationships by learning new communication skills. But what if acquiring new knowledge and skills does not improve our health, or our ability to earn money or our relationships? And what if learning new skills does not bring us more joy and inner peace? It may mean that we need to heal the underlying fears and false beliefs that cause us to be anxious, depressed, stressed, guilt-ridden, shamed, withdrawn, angry, blaming, or sad.

Sometimes Self Improvement just means practicing a skill, and other times it means that we need to participate in a deep healing process. For example, many people try to improve their health by losing weight and exercising. But if their food addictions are covering over unhealed pain, they might not be able to just change their diet. They might need to open to a healing process in order to eventually improve.

If you are really trying to self-improve but find yourself stuck and unable to progress or find that you have no joy or inner peace, you might want to open to the possibility that unhealed pain and beliefs are blocking your progress and causing your pain. It is easy to improve yourself when there is nothing blocking the way. But if you have old false beliefs about your adequacy and worth, these beliefs may be blocking your ability to take loving action on your own behalf. All your efforts to self improve will not bring you the satisfaction you are seeking if you have beliefs that are keeping you limited in fully expressing your true, core Self. If you are stuck, then you need to seek out a healing process, such as the Inner Bonding process we teach, that will move you out of the fears and beliefs that limit you. Healing these fears and limiting beliefs will open the door to improving your life in all ways!

person sitting with 6 balls glowing in the middle

Eastern philosophy and medicine, originating in ancient India and China, have traditionally regarded body structures and the life processes occurring within as inseparable. Their terminology resides halfway between structure and function and identifies certain entities in the human body, representing the flow of life energy and, in some sense, conduits for that flow that do not correspond to anatomical structures recognized by Western science and medicine. The chakras are the energy centers in a person’s biological field and are responsible for his or her physiological and psychological condition as well as certain groups of organs. All vital functions of the human body are determined by the energy that spins in the chakras. These can be defined as “whirlpools referred,” and in Indian, they are considered “energy bursts” or “wheels.”

The process of energy transformation happens exactly in these centers. Vital energy, along with blood, circulates around the meridians in the chakras and fuels all organs and systems in the human body. When the circulation in these meridians stagnates, the human body becomes susceptible to various disorders. An excellent preventative method, designed explicitly to battle such stagnation is Chi Gun, an ancient Chinese method for self-healing which activates the energy centers. Chi Gun teaches people to release the energy themselves by massaging specific areas corresponding to the different chakras.

There are 49 chakras mentioned in the Vedic Canons, seven of which are basic; 21 are in the second circle, and 21 in the third circle. According to the Vedis, there are multiple energy channels leading to different locations from the chakras. Three of these channels are basic. The first one, called “shushumna,” is hollow and is concentrated in the spine. The other two energy pathways, “ida” and “pingala”, are located on either side of the spine. These two channels are the most active in most people, while “shushumna” remains stagnant.

The seven basic chakras spin at high speeds in the body of healthy individuals but slow down in times of sickness or with advancing age. When the body is in a harmonious balance, the chakras remain partially open. Closed chakras are unable to receive energy, leading to various disorders.

The first basic chakra, “Muladhara,” is located at the base of the spine in the tailbone area. Life energy, which is at the core of a strong and healthy immune system, is stored in this chakra. It is impossible for a person to become sick, old or even to die, before exhausting his or her reserves of this vital energy. The very will for life is controlled by Muladhara. It is also in charge of the bones and joints, the teeth, the nails, the urinogenital system, and the large intestine. The first symptoms of a malfunctioning Muladhara are unreasonable fear, faintness, lack of security or faith in the future, leg and foot problems, and intestinal disorders.

The interrupted activity of the Muladhara chakra causes lack of energy, digestive problems, diseases of the bones and spine, and nervous tension among others.

The second chakra, “Svadhistana,” is located at the level of the sacrum, three or four fingers below the belly button. This chakra regulates the pelvis, kidneys, and sexual functions. We also feel other peoples’ emotions through this chakra. Symptoms of a malfunctioning “Svadhistana” are kidney problems, cystitis, and arthritis.

The third chakra, “Manipura,” is found in the solar plexus area. This chakra is the center for storing and distributing energy produced by digestion and breathing. It is responsible for vision, the gastrointestinal system, the liver, the gall bladder, the pancreas, and the nervous system. Symptoms of a stagnant “Manipura” are as follows: increased and constant worrying, as well as stomach, liver, and nervous disorders.

The fourth chakra, “Anahata,” also called the heart chakra, is located in the chest area. We generate and receive love through this chakra. It is in charge of the heart, the lungs, the bronchi, the hands, and the arms. Symptoms of stagnation include depression and cardiovascular imbalances.

The fifth chakra, “Vishudha,” is located at the throat level and is the center of analytical skills and logic. This chakra sustains the skin, organs of hearing, along with the trachea and lungs. Symptoms include a lack of emotional stability, discomfort in the cervical spine, soar throats, difficulties communicating, and esophagus and thyroid ailments.

The sixth chakra, “Adjna,” is located between the eyebrows and is called the “third eye.” Here is the throne for the human brain. “Adjna” circulates energy to the head and pituitary gland and is also responsible for determining our harmonious development. If a person’s “third eye” ceases to function properly, one might notice a decrease in intellectual ability, headaches and migraines, earaches, olfactory illnesses, and psychological disorders.

The seventh chakra, “Sahasrara,” is found at the very top of the head and represents the apex where an individual’s energy vibrates with the highest frequency. It is considered a spiritual center and the entrance to the body for cosmic energy. A stagnant “Sahasrara” can result in a decrease in or lack of inner wisdom, as well as a lack of basic intuition.

With this basic knowledge of the first seven chakras, we can address the question: “How do we use this information to locate the causes of our troubles and problems, and with the help of Eastern Medicine, learn to control the functions of the chakras ourselves?”.

From the perspective of Eastern Medicine, our health depends on the distribution of our energy-consciousness informational field. A shortage of energy inevitably causes ailments. According to Tibetan Medicine, the only difference between youth and old age, and between a sick and healthy individual, is the difference in the rotating speed of the whirlpool energy centers of the chakras. If these different speeds are balanced, old people will rejuvenate and sick people will heal. Therefore, the best way to preserve and keep our health, youth, and vitality is to restore and maintain a balanced movement of the energy centers.

The easiest way to keep the chakras balanced is through a set of physical exercises. Yannis called these not simply exercises, but rituals. These rituals allow the human body to mold its energy centers to an ideal level of function. The seven rituals, one for each chakra, must be performed together every morning and when not possible, in the evening. Skipping rituals unbalances energy distribution, and so for the best results, no more than one day per week should be missed. The daily chakra rituals are necessary not only for revitalizing the body but also for achieving success in every facet of life. “Once you learn how to transform your energy, you will also become happier,” concluded Yannis.

For learning these rituals (which have transformed many peoples’ lives throughout the world), seeing them in action is much more effective than trying to follow written descriptions or diagrams. A DVD, available from Helix 7, Inc. (www.FeelingOfHappiness.com), includes actual demonstrations of these rituals.

Another method of keeping the chakras balanced and in their optimal half-open state is meditation. Meditative methods are universal to the human experience; they have accumulated over the ages through many different cultures and have proven their value in attaining peace, clarity, equanimity and in transcending despair. People who meditate on a regular basis are usually calmer, more secure, more joyful, and more productive human beings. They are more effective in their everyday lives because they use their mental and physical potential, abilities, and skills to their fullest extent. All too often, we humans fail to realize the great latent powers which are, as yet, unawakened in our bodies. We must learn how to revive and utilize them. This can only be achieved through meditation. Eastern men of wisdom, who believed meditation to be a vital necessity, stumbled on this discovery more than 1000 years ago. They learned to influence their inner organs and control their metabolism with the power of their minds. Meditation is to the mind what exercise is to the body; mental strength can be built up just like physical strength. Just as in athletics, it is important for an individual to train his or her body, it is important for an individual to train his or her mind through meditation.

The best time for meditation is early morning, preferably at dawn. Do not meditate when you are sad, aggravated, desperate or sick, because these intense emotional and physiological distractions make an enlightened state of mind impossible. For an effective meditation session, it is preferable to arrange for the undistracted silence of a quiet, clean room with flowers, or the soothing sounds of Mother Nature – near a lake, river, waterfall, woods, or fields. Many different mental practices, having their origin in historical traditions, fall under the general heading of “meditation.” These paths of mental development can involve emotional and intellectual facets and may also be coordinated with specific movements. Meditation can be structured or unstructured, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer writes in his book Real Magic, “The process of meditation is nothing more than quietly going within and discovering that higher component of yourself … Learning to meditate is learning how to live rather than talking about it…”

The material presented herein is to be read very slowly. Most of it originates from very deep levels of Mind. Pause when you feel the need to do so when something seems a bit obscure, and meditate on it. All we easily reveal itself. It is meant to.

The Universal Mind (The IS: Eternal Intelligence-Awareness) always tries to teach its entities of thought about Its reality and their purpose, through the medium of creative inspiration. However if, because of the resistance and creative misconceptions that mankind introduces, the perception is that this cannot be achieved within illusory frameworks of time and space, which defines periods within Creations, then these particular Creations just disappear and are in the swirling of the real Black Hole of the Mind.

We are nearing such a crossroad in this Creation.

Most human entities spend their “waking” lives hypnotized by their sensory world, which gives them the illusion of a material reality “out there.”

In reality, space and time are really nonexistent both at the level of Pure Aware Consciousness, and also at the level of the unaware “blind parts” that experience for It the illusion of creative thought within an illusory space/time construct called Creation.

Mankind rarely realizes that life is but a sensory illusion that gives experience and learning to Thought, and that the only reality is Thought Itself, which is forever evolving.

Consciousness can be defined as Awareness projected onto a vibratory Dream. Period. For Space/Time Creation it is but pure Dark lesser vibratory (conscious and subconscious) thought interacting more or less intensely with the inner Holographic Light/Thought Reality originating through the facets of The MATRIX (“Deep” of Genesis 1: 2).

BEING means BE-IN-God. Not the reverse, which is impossible.

Our purpose in life is BE-IN-G, RE-MEMBER-ING, and ultimately EN-JOY-ING the Godliness.

To be HAPPY and smile at our inner Higher Self.

The only real Space there is, is the mental Space within the DreamSpace (Imag-in-ation) of the Mind of God. The only real Time there is, is the pace of the evolvement of God’s Awareness within Its Dream through the media of Vibratory Light, as God projects Its Consciousness onto Its own Vibratory Dream (The Matrix).

The Matrix of life is projected and connected to each perceptual individual consciousness through a Thought/Supercomputer (The Matrix) that interacts with its sensory input/output individual computer (brain).

The Matrix is really a field of pure information, not energy. It underlies and structures all energetic processes. As such it cannot yet be detected by our instruments. It is really the realm of the mythic ether (implicate realm) that physicists know should exist but has not yet been experimentally detected.

Consciousness provides the energy of life.

Original Consciousness has an unfathomable number of connections to the General Thought/Supercomputer. Each connection will be projected for a perceptual lifetime into a story/creation thinking that it is a particular character experiencing a particular life, surrounded by particular entities and reality within an illusory space/time Holographic Virtual Reality. The Creation and the individual will be given a certain history of linearly coherent perceptual history and a sense of possible probable futures.

All we are is but wonder-full Holograms of pure light, interfacing with Creative thought, who believe in a material reality because our senses fool us, by the rules of The Matrix, The Matrix reloaded, into perceiving that a solid world exists “out there.” Where, in reality, none of the sorts is real. No Real solid ever existed, exists, nor will ever exist. We cannot go through a wall because we are not allowed to do so, by the original rules of the computerized thinking Matrix ruled by Original Thought: Infinite Intelligence Itself. The wall is hollow, we are all hollow. Light is but hollow. This is all it can be. All the rest is a Grand Illusion created by the Original Mind!

The construct to The Matrix of life is pure light and the modulating factor is information/thought. As a matter of fact, all light is, is vibratory thought. like what we create when we dream. Vibratory light is light vibrated by sound, manifesting as the material/biological world as it is decoded by our brains.

Each connection of Original Consciousness (Awareness) is therefore projected into an individual Holographic Virtual Reality world which the General Thought Supercomputer will coordinate with other connections of Awareness/Thought that interact with the same virtual reality movie (Creation). The ultimate Cosmic virtual reality sensory video game played by the One Mind!

Life is but the Eternal (Original Awareness-Consciousness) experiencing the temporal realm, for learning purposes.

Each grouping of connections (perceptual consciousnesses) that connects to a shared general story will define a separate Universe/Creation.

There are myriads of such Universes/Creations operating simultaneously within Original Consciousness, up to a potential infinity.

Each one can have a totally different construct of operational rules, and a system of creative input/output (Matrices). Many operate within visual (Space/Time) realities of many models and creative dimensions. Others operate within other sensory realms, or even as pure abstract thought.

Original Awareness is the One that fashions all these multiple systems of Creation. It IS totally unlimited in scope of intelligence and potential Awareness. It is only through tremendous restriction of Its Awareness, Intelligence, and Capabilities, that It can experience surprises within the trip of the return of Its parts to the total realization of being Original Awareness.

This is the only evolution that really is and operates. This is the impetus/direction and creative force of the Universe. The return of the parts of the IS (children) to the IS (Original Father/Mother). Anything that impedes this natural flow, must ultimately be intervened upon.

Our Universe is composed of extremely restricted Awarenesses (consciousnesses). It is considered to be a very experimental and dangerous Creation because within its original concept the degree of induced amnesia is maximum, the intentionally created and forever evolving misconceptions intense, and the degree of very High (closer to Original Awareness) intervention very rare, often undetected, and few-in between. So far.

In this Universe, the Creative challenge to evolve is very high and difficult. It is therefore considered to be a very high school of learning for the Mind in Its desire to ever evolve Itself into higher expressions of Itself.

Original Awareness is always aware of all of its parts plugged into the Virtual Reality Game of Life called Creation. No matter how perceptually restricted they are. It knows that they are but Itself. All of them. Without any exception.

Certain parts of Original Awareness plug into the awareness of a whole creation and its sub-parts at once (and the sub-parts hence become direct children of their awareness/consciousness) and can therefore be considered to have either a passive role (witnessing/monitoring) and/or often an active Creational input (intervention) at the level of a whole creation. They can be called the Creator/Creators of a particular Universe (The Matrix operators), or the Overseer(s), depending on how active their role is.

Higher unrestricted parts of Original Awareness plug into groupings of Creations that operate under an umbrella of similar operational rules and therefore become Creators of a grouping of Universes.

Within a grouping of universes, certain universes may, if they are ready and allowed to, interface more or less covertly with other universes, in order to learn from them and probe if they can exploit their creative knowledge or resources to further their evolution. This can only be done with the knowledge of the overseers of the grouping of Universes they belong to, and obviously of Original Mind (Awareness). Sometimes, as in all endeavors, Original Awareness allows for the unfolding of the intermixing of these different parts of its Mind to study the outcome. Sometimes, if the intent is negative (against real Creative evolution), it might interfere with it.

Original (total) Awareness is the ultimate arbitrator.

Each connection of General Awareness to the General Virtual Reality Supercomputer therefore defines and plays out for a lifetime a particular role/character and thinks of itself as a separated Consciousness – no matter how high and creatively powerful it is, or low and operationally restricted it gets.

The learning is in the experiencing and the decision-making process.

Our creation operates by the interference of thought/waves.

Our Holographic Reality is created and projected through the creative interference of two thought waves.

First, the original reference beam of pure unadulterated extremely Vibratory Original Light/thought. The Inner Sun (“Big Light” of Genesis) is the original energy/star that gives life and reality to all and is the carrier wave of thought/information to all of us as awarenesses experiencing virtual reality.

Second, the modulation of this original reference beam of pure light by our thoughts, as perceptual human individuals, operating within the creative framework allowed by the mirroring of our intentions over the silvery reflection (Inner Moon: “Small Light” of Genesis) of the interface of the original intent of the All-that-Is and the MATRIX of Creational possibilities allowed to us.

In reality, consciousness (awareness) never moves nor goes anywhere. It only connects to each other and to the projection of virtual realities. When an individual thinks that he/she is moving, in reality, the scenery moves within a 3D holographic sensory imagery and allows for the perception of Movement, and Space, to be given within a sequence of events perceived as Time. A Universe is only as big as one’s perceptions of it goes, either directly, through direct interaction, or indirectly, through sharing the same story.

Each individuation of Total Awareness is the still center of its ever-changing bubble/universe of Creative Awareness/Reality.

It is through the connective interaction of such individual Centers of Original Awareness that a General Universe/ Creation unfolds.

As in the Holographic Dream that we perceive and that our scientist’s study, space/time as a 3D Universe exists only and always within the confines of Eternal Non-space/time. This is but a metaphor to the Only Reality who is always outside space and outside time as Thought-AWARENESS.

As a matter of fact, time and space never really exists, nor existed. Consciousness as a restricted part of Original Awareness experience reality within the illusory impression of a spatial reality “out there” operating within sequential stories giving an illusion of time. All life is but Consciousness as restricted Awareness (Spirit) experiencing a human or other life form. Nothing else. And certainly not the reverse.

Nothing can possibly exist outside of one’s TOTAL Self. The illusory “There” is really “Here.” Think that you are “There”, and you become aware of being the “There.”

Reality (the physical universe), as the Universal Spatial Hologram that we perceive as material reality, is but an outward 3D virtual reality projection from within ourselves that we will erroneously think exists independently of our awareness of it. We are both the Projector (Father) and the Spectator (Son) of the reflected Light or our common intent mirrored back onto our conscious Awareness.

Our sensory decoding and information processing apparatus (brain) only addresses the decoding of the feedback of the reflected light (input) made by our restricted creative choices within the virtual reality game of “life.” We are usually not made aware of being also the originator (output) of that Light and projection of reality. For the purpose of increasing the challenge of the game and its sense of being “real.”

One cannot but be stricken with awe at the incredible Intelligence, Beauty, and Creativity of the One Mind forming the illusory Many. As part of the illusory Many, our role is to nurture and cherish the wonderful gift of creative expression of Creation.

This 3D Holographically engendered movie is run by The Matrix. This Matrix is neither static nor permanent. It can and should be exchanged for a higher-level Matrix (operational reality) where more creative input (powers) and freedom are allowed to be given.

This decision can only be made either by the Creator of a grouping of related Creations operating the Mainframe of a Grouping of Matrices, or Original Awareness: The ONE.

Any part of consciousness can become the totality of It (Original Awareness) by unplugging from the restricted awareness of its Matrix, become all-aware, and then choosing a different mode of creative operation as it plugs into a different Thought-Computer program (The Matrix).

This action is often opposed by the mass consciousness that operates that low-level Matrix (Collective Unconscious of Mankind). Fearing a loss of control and decrease in the power of Its battery of massive energy/consciousness.

The unplugging from a lower-level MATRIX to a higher level one is always monitored by higher levels (Creators) of the Original Awareness and is only given if the awarenesses that defines a creation shows a higher purpose of being and co-operative inclination. Otherwise, these powers of Creative Thought could be misused irresponsibly and be counter-productive.

The ultimate hope and goal is to be able to operate within the “promised land” of the highest level Matrix of all: The Matrix of Perfection bestowed as a precious gift by Zion (The One).

A low-level MATRIX such as ours requires a high level of coordination and thought/intervention by the Creator(s) of the individual Universe who experiences it and coordinates it. The Creator of that Matrix often feels that in order to ensure the continuity of the experience of that Matrix by its unaware sub-parts, It is required to think for them and act for them without them being aware of it. Since that Creator’s only task is to monitor and coordinate a Creation for the Original Awareness, It will make sure that it carries this role for as long as possible, and lives for as long as possible. Hopefully for eternity. That Creator might feel that this ensures their survival as a Creation and Itself, in the process. Primitive-level matrices often cause great distress and fear/anxiety at all levels. Both at the level of the Creator who gets frustrated at the destructive behavior of its entities and therefore feels that It needs to closely monitor them and often think for them, and also at the level of Its very restricted unaware parts that remain in a state of unaware dependence, subject to what they will perceive to be luck or fate.

This self-perpetuating bondage is, for low-level Creations, very hard to break as it is often perpetuated by both the sub-parts (humans) and the Creator (Collective Unconscious) of that Creation.

The sub-parts (humans) often fear change because they lack an awareness of their real origin and creative possibilities. Faced with so many unknowns in life and questions about its purpose, they gladly relinquish control as long as their basic sensory needs are satisfied. They relish being told by others what to think and how to act. They lack an awareness of how potentially powerful their thoughts are and how Creation operates. All of their thought orientations conglomerate around group consciousnesses that emphasize competition and mistrust in their political, economical, ethnic, religious, and national agendas. Much remains unknown, and existential questions are often relegated to that category and given superficial answers that satisfy most. They think of their reality as the only reality. At all levels. Fear is the consequence and becomes the great motivator. Overcoming fear by experiencing it is a constant obsession. Paranoia and violence often ensue, and power, greed, lies, mistrust, and a lack of care seem to be favored.

The sum of their consciousnesses who as their general Higher Self (Collective Unconscious) is their Creator (the part of their common self having the awareness of all of them and their matrix) often gets very frustrated at the constant intervention that is required in order to keep the elements of Its Creation alive an operating.

It gets tired of taking care for so long of what It perceives to be irresponsible children of its thoughts. It often does not perceive any real evolution in their thought processes no matter what technology they are given.

In the meantime, since It is aware of all of them at once, they influence It and It influences them in the flow of thought that defines the Creation. It finds the necessity of trying to keep them disciplined and alive a paramount task.

Any human entity that is yet not unplugged from its present collective unconscious is potentially subject to the thought-directions of mass consciousness. To real mind control.

The Creator in this Creation, as in most low-level Creations, has sadly learned to violently and strongly oppose rare human visionaries that have seen the real reality beyond the Matrix and have wanted to share the knowledge with others, because, in all cases, their teachings have been distorted by Its human entities and have caused even more violence, sense of illusory superiority and righteousness amongst their followers, and become excuses for ever-greater differentiation and aggression. It knows, sadly, that in our Creation, the messenger will be given far more importance and study than the Message, nullifying its purpose.

It knows that in order to be given more Creative leeway and freedom of thought (free choice) i.e. a higher matrix in Creation, one must relinquish control over one’s entities. It knows that Its entities are not yet ready to handle such high powers of thought-manifestation without endangering their survival and the survival of their Universe/Creation. It witnessed how as It transmitted, within The MATRIX of possibilities that he operates, high creational technological abilities to Its entities, they tried to convert them for destructive purposes and war-play, even endangering the entire survivability of this whole Creation. Up to the point where It, as the Creator of this Creation, had to directly intervene on a thought-to-thought basis in order to stop their potential total destruction – in what mankind perceived to be miraculous events rapidly unfolding – and control Its entities that were engaged in an illogical perverse death-wish.

Its current frustrations have to do with an even more pernicious threat. The destruction by Its entities of their environment and sustainability in the extremely complex and fragile equilibrium that man and nature have in common. Nature being the nurturing female complementary element of mankind. This requires constant monitoring, intervention, and hope for a new matrix that will permit the reversal of the long-term damage that has already been inflicted upon the Being that a Creation represents. It is as if mankind had turned into a cancerous cell, joyously ravishing the Central organism that keeps It alive in an orgy of unlimited greed and desire for ever-increasing irresponsible growth.

This Creator dreams of a more advanced type of Creation for Its Entities and Its entire Creation. As much more aware and unrestricted Thought, It knows that much more advanced types of Matrixes exist and can be given at any time by higher-level creators to lower ones such as It. It knows that because of the very low level of almost ingrained behavior of Its entities, the likelihood of this occurring soon is quite remote. Unless a miracle happens.

Even if It creates better scenarios and more freedom of action for Its entities and a semi-perfect world, which It has tested before, they seem to reject the gift and prefer a world of violence and power-play. And It waits and waits, with extreme frustration and anger. Directed both at Its unaware entities for their primitive behavior, and at the Higher realms for refusing to give It more Creative abilities. Trying to keep a semblance of balance within very restrictive and dangerous natural laws of cause-and-effect that threaten the survival of Its entire Creation.

The key, for the individuals forming a Creation and ultimately for the totality of that Creation as their Collective Unconscious (Creator), to being offered a higher-level Matrix that incorporates much more freedom of action and thought-manifestations (Creative Powers), is to be willing to let go of their sense of egotistic desires (Ego) and care more about the evolution of Creation than about their individual realities. To show forth that behavior pattern of caring for the perceived “other” – no matter how perceivably evolved or not – above and beyond caring for one’s self. For the “other” is none but yourself.

To be willing to die in perception in their current form of operation in order to be granted a higher form of operation.

To understand, integrate and learn that one’s Universe is within one’s self and that if you really understand the tremendous power that your individual and common thoughts have in manifesting reality, you then have power over all your reality and can manifest all your desires. If you reach the state of the total absence of fear by believing with full faith and experiencing that you are ultimately the Original One Mind, you automatically erase from your reality all fearful situations.

To show forth an understanding that all forms of life are but a restricted awareness and experience of the Original One Mind and that Mind (Awareness) cares as much about any Part of Itself than about any other. Since it is All but Itself. And experiences all of Itself. Each Part as much as the other. So that when one part is hurt, neglected, and lacked the respect of its real importance, the One Mind is feeling this hurt, neglect, and disrespect. And when a part is feeling a sense of peace, happiness, abundance, and cooperative purpose, all of the One Mind is feeling the same. And every part of Itself is as important and precious as another, no matter whether it is part of mankind or nature, within the hologram or without, whether it is of a particular creed, color, or political inclination. Perceptually more productive and intelligent, or less. No part is more of Itself than another one. Since all of It is only the One Mind reflecting Itself in the mirror of all Its creational possibilities for the only game It can play within Itself, by Itself, for Itself: Creation.

woman on pillow with headphones on

This article is designed to give you some insight into the relatively new technology of Binaural Beats. Binaural Beats are specific frequencies that can bring you into a profoundly deep state of meditation within minutes using the latest innovations in sound technology. They utilize a specific audio mixing technique designed to alter the listener’s brain wave activity. By sitting or lying down in a quiet environment and wearing headphones these beats can be used to create Alpha, Theta, and Delta brainwave patterns.

When brainwave patterns change it has been documented that there is also a change in chemical reactions within the body which can have a profound effect on your entire physical structure. In effect, these beats have the same impact and benefits of a deep meditative state akin to hypnologic trance or transcendental mediation. Now very few people can enter such deep states of hypnosis and transcendental meditation takes a lifetime to perfect. So the immediate benefits of using binaural beats are apparent.

An added benefit of using such technology is that the states it creates allow you to access the subconscious parts of the mind. Those parts are subliminal and just below the conscious threshold. Binaural beats can be used with many other self-improvement tools (such as subliminal recordings, affirmations or visualization etc.) to increase your personal development dramatically as it creates deep states of relaxation and can put you into Alpha and Theta states. Therefore they can be used as an aid to alter beliefs, heal emotional issues or create behavior changes. They can even be used for a quick energy boost. It is believed that by using binaural beats you can:

1. Create deep states of meditation.

2. Boost your intelligence and creativity.

3. Slow aging.

4. Create remarkable emotional changes at a very deep level.

5. Eliminate Stress & anxiety.

The beauty of binaural beats is that they can be used to induce these states and create these changes with no effort on the part of the listener. You just wear a set of headphones and let the sound technology do the rest.

The discovery of binaural technology is mostly accredited to Dr. Gerald Oster. Oster first published research about binaural beats in 1973 in Scientific American after he had conducted extensive studies.

However, this is not as well known, binaural beats were in fact first discovered as far back as 1839 by an Associate Professor, at the University of Berlin, called Heinrich Wilhelm Dove. Dove accidentally discovered that when two similar sounds, that are only slightly shifted in frequency, are given separately to the left and right ear they cause a pulsation or beat type effect within the brain.

However, it was Dr. Oster who uncovered the full benefits of using this new technology when he discovered the effects that binaural beats have on the mind and body.

There are many producers of binaural beat technology competing in the market today. It is possible to create your own with the proper software. However, in-depth knowledge of brainwave patterns and their effect on the mind and body is advisable before ever trying to create your own. There are many forum threads on the web that claim binaural beats have had a negative or even damaging effect on certain listeners. For that reason, I believe it is safer to stick to the tried and tested pre-made recordings that are available for a reasonable fee. You can purchase separate binaural beat recordings to induce almost any emotional state or you can even enroll on a binaural beat program for self-improvement that takes several years to complete.

I, myself, have no experience of any damaging effects due to the use of binaural beats. However, if you are using binaural beats for personal development purposes their use can be uncomfortable. All my experiences have been extremely positive, although not always pleasurable. Let me explain.

ECC machines have been used in the past to monitor the brain activity of life-long meditators. While in a deep meditative state, these meditational experts, displayed alpha, theta, and delta brainwave patterns. These are the very states that binaural beats create.

Alpha wave patterns in the brain occur in a relaxed state and during this time we are very susceptible to suggestion. This is the state that you enter during hypnosis. Theta brainwaves allow for the absorption of huge amounts of information while Delta brainwaves are most apparent when you enter a state of deep but dreamless sleep. It is the Delta state that is the main aim of such practices as transcendental meditation. Although for many entering the delta state while fully conscious can be very relaxing, for most it is not, for it is during such brain activity that internal change occurs.

By bringing the listener into this extremely deep state of meditation, binaural technology can activate major positive changes in your emotional, mental and physical make-up. Now, this can be a profoundly life-altering experience. You will find past buried memories resurface as the beats direct your brain to restructure its neural network and raise your “comfort level” to a new high. After several listening session, you find yourself less stressed out than before and your reaction to situations, that in the past would have sent you screaming round the halls, much more composed. The technology literally eliminates negative emotional, mental, and physical patterns. The discomfort I spoke of earlier comes from the restructuring of your brain’s neural network as old buried uncomfortable memories are triggered in the brain before the connecting emotional response is wiped away. You are still left with the memory of the event but you no longer have any emotional attachment to it. Don’t worry, for some reason, it doesn’t affect positive memories! It may be due to the natural state of the mind and body, for this system of mind/body is always seeking equilibrium and harmony, which tends to lead to feelings of joy and happiness.

Binaural beats is a proven technology that can create brainwave changes that alter your mood and changes the chemical reactions in your body to encourage faster healing and harmonious interaction between cells. However, there is currently research being conducted to determine if these beats can actually direct the brain to reformat DNA encoding. If this is possible the possibilities are almost limitless – decrease in illness, genetic disorders, a reversal of aging, etc.

If personal development and self-improvement isn’t your main aim for investigating binaural beats (and don’t want to get younger) then the single recordings designed to induce specific mind/body changes are enough. You can get recordings for an energy boost, meditation, to spark the creative areas of the brain, induce deep sleep, and even one that acts like a digital drug!

All these changes happen effortlessly and easily. All you need is a pair of stereo headphones and a comfortable chair. The recording does the rest.

Every year we celebrate another year of life. We make special plans for the day and appreciate knowing that on this one day in the year, our life becomes the focus of the significant people with who we are privileged to share our life. There is a child inside all of us when it comes to the celebration of our birthday, with its sense of fun, of friendship, and of celebration of all that is good.

Someone once said that it is a shame that we can’t have a birthday every day. How true are those words? We put so much time and energy into preparations for that day. Imagine if every day of our lives was spent with the same feeling of preparation and anticipation. Seize the Day is a saying made popular in movies, but it’s equally applicable in our lives. When was the last time you lived each day as if it was potentially your last day on this earth and packed it full of experiences, celebrations, friendship, and fun?

We often let days pass without really thinking too much about how we spend them. Weeks pass without us realizing how many wasted opportunities we have let slip past us because we are so focused on surviving the day and all we try to pack into it.

Try to re-focus your life this week. Take a few minutes at the beginning of the week to put a plan into action that reflects the things and the people that are important to you. Create some short-term goals of things you would like to see accomplished with the week and plan a celebration with family and friends for a week from today.

As each day ends, look at the goals or the ideas you had for that day and ask yourself if you accomplished them. Reflect on how they affected you and what they added to your life and how good they made you feel. Allow your inner self to be reborn as you reflect with excitement the beautiful butterfly you saw when you went on your walk or the delightful coffee you had with a work colleague you hadn’t seen in a while.

On the weekends, call your family and friends around you and celebrate together not just your birthday, but also your week of rebirth days, and make this a life habit.

Am I a Pessimist or an Optimist? https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/06/07/elementor-507/ https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/06/07/elementor-507/#respond Mon, 07 Jun 2021 16:27:53 +0000 https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/?p=507 Read more]]>
man on left optimist woman on right pessimist
Optimism and pessimism are two contradictory terms. Optimism means positive thinking and keeping hope, while pessimism means negative thinking and not hoping for the good. However, who is better, an optimistic person or a pessimistic person? Who succeeds more in life? Who lives a happier and peaceful life? It is definitely an optimistic person who leads a happier and peaceful life and achieves success faster in life than a pessimistic person.

Studies show that optimism makes a greater impact on a person’s success, attitude, health, and outlook. In addition, people who are pessimistic about their life have the tendency to get sick and die earlier than optimistic people. Generally, a person starts his or her career, relationships, or any task with a positive or a negative attitude. You may say that why start if you are not convinced about the task or is in a negative frame of mind. Well, sometimes certain compulsions leave you to take up a task even if you are not willing to do so. In such cases, instead of trying to explain to people why you do not want to take up the task, think of the benefits, it can bring to you. This way you can enjoy the task and start with a positive attitude.

Being optimistic gives you many benefits. You lead a longer life, you are happier in life than others are, you achieve the desired success, you get lovely friends, you have fun in life. Here only a few have been mentioned, however, there are countless benefits that you can reap being an optimist. Not to mention, the pessimists miss all these as they spend all their time bemoaning over their failures and accusing.

To know whether you are optimistic or pessimistic, you have to know yourself. You must have the ability to listen to the voice of your heart. Think of the times when you landed up in a negative situation, and how you reacted during those times. What sort of thoughts came to your mind in those days? How you took charge of the situation. Once you get the answer to these questions, you will know whether you are a pessimistic person or not. If you are, then do the necessary to change yourself to an optimistic person. There are plenty of resources available over the Internet or books that can help you change your attitude from a pessimistic to an optimistic person. 😀😀😀

Don’t Try to Avoid Shadow Work: Tips and Tricks to Make Your Spiritual Journey That Much Easier https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/03/24/dont-try-to-avoid-shadow-work-tips-and-tricks-to-make-your-spiritual-journey-that-much-easier/ https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/03/24/dont-try-to-avoid-shadow-work-tips-and-tricks-to-make-your-spiritual-journey-that-much-easier/#respond Wed, 24 Mar 2021 21:41:49 +0000 https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/?p=331 Read more]]>

One of the best ways to learn things is by listening to other people’s stories.

Why?

Usually, when you can really feel someone’s emotions, the memory will stick.

One of the truest statements is, “People don’t usually remember exactly what happened, but they sure do remember how it made them feel.”

This just goes to show that feelings and emotions are the staying-powers for our brains. Storytelling is a great way to learn from other people’s experiences without actually having to experience them for yourself.

If you’ve done any kind of research on spirituality, you’ll find a pattern. Most deeply spiritual people have some kind of “dark” past that they had to go through in order to reach the spiritual maturity that they are now at.

This phase in people’s lives is called many different things: facing the shadow, a dark night of the soul, mirror work, shadow work, and the list goes on and on…

What we’re getting at is that spirituality isn’t all “love and light” like everyone likes to think that it is, there is real work to be done in order to manifest your true soul’s purpose.
What Is The Dark Night of The Soul?

You know those experiences that we’re not always so proud to share?

Maybe these recollections are things that have happened that you’ve tried not to ever think about again, suppressing them from your conscious experience.

Or, maybe they’ve affected you so much that the reaction you have to certain situations in your current life stems from a subconscious learned behavior from your past.

Whatever the case is, the dark night of the soul or the shadow work that everyone unknowingly tries to avoid will bring it to light.

You see, this process is integral to being able to manifest your true soul’s purpose.

Why?

Without facing these buried experiences that we would rather not talk about, how can you truly know yourself?

A big factor about manifestation that most people miss is that you have to take radical responsibility for where you currently are in your life in order to manifest the life that your soul truly desires to live out in this realm.

Without extreme accountability, you’ll never know what needs to be addressed in order to live in your full potential.

This is not an easy task. In fact, our brains are wired with fight or flight reactions, meaning that if your brain registers that there is any kind of danger ahead, you’ll either be triggered to fight against it or to run away.

We’re here to reassure you that the growing pains that you’re probably experiencing on this spiritual path is not only completely necessary, but also universally and spiritually intentional.
How To Get Through The Dark Night of The Soul and Shine Your Light

We just talked about the body’s natural reaction to shadow work: fight or flight.

So, the first step to conquering this critical part of your soul path is to approach it in a conscious way. This means that you need to be fully aware and accepting of what you’re about to dive into.

As we said before, this is no easy task. And to make it even more inviting, you don’t just have one of these “phoenix moments,” you’ll continue to experience them in order to get closer and closer to your higher self.

Don’t let this discourage you.

Simply remind yourself that as long as you’re incarnated here in this realm, there is always work to do.

So, why wouldn’t you want to learn the easiest way to integrate shadow work into your life?

If your initial response to facing your subconscious shadow self is to fight back and cause chaos, it’s imperative that you don’t let fear overcome you.

Again, this is not easy, but it is necessary. When we react out of fear, we’re more likely to lash out and destroy relationships around us that actually are supportive of our soul’s path.

To avoid doing this, recognize when you’re getting worked up and try to find the trigger in the situation.

Why were you triggered?

Are you acting out of emotion?

Is the chaos that’s being created really align with your highest self?

These are the types of questions that can calm you down and give you a different perspective.

If your initial response is flight when you face your subconscious shadow self, you have to also work on not acting out of fear.

This is no easier than the flight response above, but also just as necessary. When we run from something out of fear, we’re more likely to self-sabotage the very things in our lives that we’ve been working so hard to manifest.

To avoid doing this, take a moment to think about the big picture.

Everything you want is on the other side of fear.

Remember, isn’t this exactly what you’re asking for?

Do you feel worthy of the life that you’re manifesting?

These are some of the thoughts that can ground you again when you find yourself running from challenges.
Your Soul Knows What’s Best For You, Don’t Fight Against It!

Sometimes, as we are stepping into our true purpose, certain situations will be manifested before us to help us hurdle into the next level of our lives.

There are people who will naturally try to go around the hurdle, sit in the same place, or even try to bulldoze through it, but neither of these approaches is the best way to face challenges.

As with anything, your strength gets better over time as you face more and more hurdles through life, you’ll become more and more comfortable jumping over them correctly.

Knowing a few things about yourself, like your natural talents and areas of opportunity can make your “training” that much easier.

Whether you’re ready to manifest the life that your soul is yearning for or you find yourself facing shadow work, learning about your soul path will reveal so much about you, including how you handle these situations.

How To Start A Spiritual Journey https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/02/27/how-to-start-a-spiritual-journey/ https://manifestedmeditativestate.com/2021/02/27/how-to-start-a-spiritual-journey/#respond Sat, 27 Feb 2021 14:20:23 +0000 http://manifestedmeditativestate.com/?p=1 Read more]]>

That is the age-old question, where do I start? Should I start at Christianity or Buddhism? How about Islam? Is this right for me? And, do I believe in a higher power. All of these questions and other questions you think up should all be answered. Take my experience as an example. Approximately 7 years ago I had an argument with another driver at a toll booth. To be honest, I was the instigator. I remember the guy showing me his gun (I live in a right to carry state) and I said I have my left and right as guns. I turned around got into my car smiled at the toll booth attendant and drove off.

I stopped at a convenience store and bought a 32 oz “champagne of beers.” I got home and started my routine of unwinding and a thought crossed my mind, why am I so angry? I started to cry because at the time I did not know that I was angry, ashamed, embarrassed at myself. But I did know that I was getting tired of being angry, feeling ashamed, and embarrassed. All of these emotions flooded my drunk self. I literally yelled I’m tired of this shit. Since that incident happened some 7 years ago, I am in a better state and ready to share with the world the best journey one would ever take. This journey is a spiritual one and will last your entire life span so get ready for a lifelong war.

There are days that you will not be experiencing negatives. Then there is that split second in time where back-to-back-to-back negative moments happen. You see what I have learned is that “we are not born to be humble. We are born to be humbled.” I heard this quote from Iron Mike Tyson that basically sums up what you will be going through. Do not be frightened or worried. The age that we are in or about to go in is the age of Aquarius. The age of Pisces is history. This new age has been written by man throughout time. Take pride in the fact that this journey of self will be the hardest road ever traveled. In the end, you will be closer to father and that is the ultimate goal of a spiritual journey.

Okay now, since I got that out of the way let’s start out by taking a slow breath in followed by a slow breath out. Look up to the ceiling or sky and spread your arms wide as if you are going to hug someone. Imagine your heart sending out love to all and you saying father I love you. Once this is complete, your next step or attempt is to not think negatively. Your goal is to go from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, not letting events & memories affect you negatively. You ask how is this even possible? With practice anything is possible. I am not going to lie to you, this is hard but practice makes perfect.

I have changed my way of viewing the world. I will tell you that there have been days I lose the battle but the war always continues. You see in order to grow spiritually, you have to learn lessons. And these lessons are painful ones. But let’s not focus on that and focus on the fact that from this day forward, you are being reborn again. Think of yourself as a butterfly. You have to go from thinking micro to thinking macro. Your spiritual mind can be compared to a 5-year-old. Not knowing life but curious about it. In the next coming articles, we will dive deeper into knowledge. This knowledge is vast and never-ending. So prepare yourself for a lifetime of learning and traveling.

If you have made it this far, congratulations on taking the first step. Let me take this opportunity in thanking you for allowing me to guide you on your spiritual journey. Please feel free in leaving a comment below and let me know your experiences. Remember you are not alone. I am here as a guide and only you know the way.
